God Bless them. Hopefully they figure this out and become a real-life Wakanda.

If you're Guyanese and hear about this, I'd be going back to the home country to get that money.

Best time to buy prime land

Country needs roads and trains badly... the regions bordering Venezuela are so remote and can only be reached by flying or taking a ferry on the river

Foreigners are treated the same as Guyanese citizens when acquiring and disposing all properties.

The process for acquiring or leasing land depends on its classification. In most cases, state and government owned lands are leased rather than sold, through an application process that involves the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission (GLSC), GO-Invest and other regulatory bodies. Private transactions are generally carried out between lawyers for the buyer and seller.

Barely a million people. This oil thing could really work out for them if their smart about it.

Don’t they have issues between Indians and Blacks there? Hope it don’t turn into something worse.

Yeah there are issues down there. Two main political parties... one is supported by the black folk and the other is supported by the indians.

Yeah there’s a bit of an issue between the majority black and Indian population but it’s not as bad as Trinidad.

Guyana also has only 750,000 people and half live in Georgetown.

Triple emphasis. Everybody should be eating very well in that country in the years to come. The question is will the government do the right thing? Or will some idiot try to horde all the money for themselves?

Also the government suffered a no confidence motion in December 2018. It's August 2019 and there's no snap election which should have been called and held by now.

In the Silver Lining

Article said by 2025 government will be generating $5 billion per year.

$5,000,000,000/778,000 residents = $64,000/person

Obviously that money will be going to pay for government services, but that is a check in everyone Guyanese hand for a couple thousand every year, easily.
  • They said the average wage is $385/month, so basically $400/month, so $4,800 a year.
  • If the government broke of just 1/8 of that $5 billion a year, that is still $8,000/year check in every Guyanese hand.
What they should do though is be smart and make sure they have super strong regulations. Cause I guarantee right now they are being guided by the oil companies, who are going to pick the easiest way to extract oil out the sea, which will fuuck up the waters of Guyana. The oil companies will be there regardless, but Guyana needs to dictate this shiit to sustain as much as possible their environment. The refining needs to be environmentally responsible too.
