:damn:

is there any way to avoid it?
i think you only get it when you drink a lot of soda..maybe juice :manny:

from a layman's perspective the best way to avoid it is to drink lots of water :jawalrus:

EDIT I was 98% wrong :
Calcium in the digestive tract binds to oxalate from food and keeps it from entering the blood, and then the urinary tract, where it can form stones. People who form calcium oxalate stones should include 800 mg of calcium in their diet every day, not only for kidney stone prevention but also to maintain bone density.

Recommendations [for avoiding kidney stones] based on the specific type of kidney stone include the following:

Calcium Oxalate Stones
  • reducing sodium
  • reducing animal protein, such as meat, eggs, and fish
  • getting enough calcium from food or taking calcium supplements with food
  • avoiding foods high in oxalate, such as spinach, rhubarb, nuts, and wheat bran
Calcium Phosphate Stones
  • reducing sodium
  • reducing animal protein
  • getting enough calcium from food or taking calcium supplements with food
Uric Acid Stones
  • limiting animal protein

Ok I don't have terrible emotional pain to the level some of yaall have experienced, but physically I can think of two separate times...

The first is when...I use to run the 400m in high school and college...and the physical pain from doing that was something I can't even explain.

I use to run it at every meet because it was considered my race, and they had recruited me specifically for it....but I still could never get use to it.

The second is when I had to get a rear tooth removed....they stuck a needle in my gum and it went right into the nerve...I felt like one of those Vietnam vets who shake and stare out just when they are about to die.

I swear that pain was nothing that I had ever felt before.

i don't think they're saying to stop eating those things outright...i think they're just suggesting a smaller portion while increasing calcium consumption :manny:

pain - Herniated disc :noah:...when ever that shyt flared up it was something else. Couldnt even move my feet a half yard apart when i walked and contemplated postponing a whole semester of school to heal. Thankfully it got better.

Id say a broken ankle but I was drunk when I first broke it :whew:. Felt awkward as fukk in the plaster cast though.
