The worst part of the Clipse album…is Pharrell’s voice. We need an intervention.

Hes not a great singer, but at least on the old stuff it doesn't matter. His voice and the hooks he wrote were a magic formula in the early 00s. He rarely missed.

But yeah, listen to Gangsta Lean. "Morning dew-ew-ew" Theres a few notes he can't quite reach on there, and a lot of In Search Of. I think he improved over the years, but I haven't heard this Clipse album yet.

Theres harmonizing then theres SINGING. Pharrell keeps trying to SING. This isn’t like just humming a melody he’s using to carry listeners through the song. He’s legit belting falsetto out there.

And kept the same rhyme scheme for the entire verse

For me the worst part was ass lines like “yellow diamonds look like pee pee”, “white glove service I’m Luigi” and “international flight connect me to the wee fee (wifi)” and pretentious avant garde coke bars talking bout “ballerinas doing pirouettes in snow globes” or whatever the fukk just weird try hard artsy fartsy imagery shyt is fukking WACK and CORNY and I’m tired of nikkas gassing it

I'm not even a P fan but he's good on the album especially the final track. That's some 70s piano pop shyt on some Elton John vibes. Really good.

I liked him on the album apart from his hook on All Things Considered

Theres not one song on this album that you’d rather hear him on as a soloist.
