i think mike will has a respectable musical angle. i can hear that he has a good grip on sound design and has more than trap music in his background

anyone saying Dilla is/was average is a complete fool that should be laughed out of the thread. all posthumous hype and questlove fueled trendy dikkriding should not cloud his IMMENSE talent. He's arguably the best maker of beats ever. That dude had so many styles over the years.


now, i never like Scott Storch....at all. He's the anti Dilla. all the training and "talent" in the world yet couldn't make some soulful, edgy hip hop shyt to save his bloated, coked out life.

i do like Still D.R.E. though.

Now this is a good post. Besides the most obvious reasons why dying sucks, it makes the legit overrating of Dilla fog up the fact that he was a fukking beast and could make ANY type of beat. So now when you say how good Dilla was everyone just assumes you're saying it because of the hype that came right after he died. But no, I'm saying it because he was the shyt way before anyone knew he was sick.

For me it's got to be Dilla, but I say that just because of the "Dilla saved my life" t-shirts TBH I don't even know his catalogue well enough, I KNOW he has great tracks but there have been threads about Dilla but a lot of tracks I heard didn't really convince me...if someone would school me with a "Top 10 Dilla prods" or something I would appreciate it

I listened to more Harry Fraud but was kind of dissapointed too

It pains me to say it but I haven't been feeling EL-P's prod that much lately, it's still dope but I prefered his Cannibal-Ox/Fandam "spacey" tracks
