Trying to have a logical, reasonable discussion in TLR is almost guaranteed to be a waste of time. Too much hyperbole, arrogance and pseudo-intellectualism. Many dudes here won't admit to being wrong, no matter what evidence/argument you present.

From what I've seen, Higher Learning is the only sub-forum where legitimate debates take place regularly without too much of that extra bullshyt. Most of the dudes in that section are reasonable and actually try to learn from each other without getting emotional (not all, of course, but most).

TLR is for the laughs/entertainment.

To answer the question, I can understand how people constantly telling you something about yourself could change ones perceptions of their surrounding. shyt if I had an old beat up car and people kept saying "nice car" or "that's one of the best cars I ever seen". I'd eventually start feeling like my old beat up car is the shyt.

The thing is, you tend to come off as condescending and like you feel you're above all of this, above all of us and the coli.
