I get what you're saying but Horizon is far from just a 'movie game'

I see this get lobbed around as some sort of detractor for Sony games just cause they have a focused narrative and cut scenes. Horizon is 95% open world exploration and combat and the combat is super dope and creative imo.

In fact most of the games I hear called 'movie games' have dope gameplay. GoW, GoT, TLOU2, Horizon, Spiderman, Ratchet, etc etc all had great gameplay. (I left a bunch out)

I'm lookin forward to the next Horizon more than anything I saw today tbh .

they mainly push it on games that have very long cutscenes yeah and quick time mechanics.

Starfield will probably be great, that’s the first thing coming out that’ll be worth copping an Xbox for me
Halo looks fun but I’m not buying a console for it

I have to see. Because while I enjoy Bethesda's games, they've never been anything I would buy a console for. And to keep it a buck, I'm probably not getting one. I'll most likely build a new PC instead and play it on there.

Game Pass is a great deal, but there’s nothing on Xbox that screams to me, “Holy shyt I must play this!” Everything I’ve seen is stuff I can wait three years for when there’s a price drop.

That's the point. You pay (kinda) and get it all.
