he's nice but he wanted to come in the game at sit at the top

if he had tried to do tracks with real lyricists and well as do the pop/hip hop star shyt i think he'd have lasted

just my theory

:patrice:I remember getting word about one of Run's sons, Diggy, coming up in the rap game back in 2011 and I remember checking for him and he was nice...had charisma and he had substance to his lyrics.....On top of a great production squad, good utilization of featured artist, and a quality "image", on top of who his father is....

And if you never heard the kid, this was the tape that impress me most....Even had appearances from Raekwon, Chris Brown, Lupe, Pharrell etc....

I remember, the ladies really fukked with him heavy and he had the image and sound to sustain a healthy fan base of female fans. He could have easily had that same female core that artists like Drake and Cole have...At least a younger version of that female core they have.

Then he had that beef with J. Cole over Cole's lyrics about his sister in the Purple Rain track.....The beef between the two was weak asf but, it did put Diggy in the spotlight at the time considering he went at one of the games rising stars, Cole.....

Then he dropped his debut album....Like ok, :what:and he had tracks on there that I thought for sure would of blown him up..... 4 Letter Word? Do It Like You with the Jeremih feature?

But, last I heard this albulm flopped and that was the end of the chapter, I haven't heard from Diggy since then....:manny:What happen to him? Why was this kid not bigger? Anyone know? @The HONORABLE SKJ

He didn't hop on the southern trap wave as far as beats and features

Which has been the winning business model for the past 5 years

This song wasn't bad either Marissa though :takedat:

He never and will never have a fair shake because of his who his father is, his image, and how he grew up. :yeshrug:

Damn just thought about Diggy Simmons and his song oh yeah randomly.

Dude had bars and everything, I just think the game didn't want to give him a chance because he was Run's son. It's hard asf to make it when your father made it big. It's one thing if his pops was an artist who never made it but his father was part of Run DMC and he grew up with money. All that shyt made people not want to check for him. If he had some big co-signs that mentored him like Wayne did Drake maybe he would have had a better shot.

I remember this, he was extorted by some gang members right. Trying to be down.

Diggy had some bars but that Copy and Paste track was absolute trash, left his career still born.

He should've never attempted anything pop and just make regular hip hop. He may not have sold a ton at the start but could have cultivated a fanbase. He didn't do that so now a decade later he has no imprint in the music industry.

Also his uncle ran off to Bali so he can't get that push anymore
