the z-fighters disagree with this plan because they want to test their skill against the androids you know how many innocent deaths the z-fighters must've caused because of their selfish thirst for battle? lol sad thing was it wasn't just the saiyans, even piccolo and tien were bout that life thats some sociopathic shyt

another example is goku & vegeta both crushing the potara earrings (when they could've beat kid buu easily if they fused) just so they could test their strength individually against him, even though the entire damn universe was at stake. to make matters worse, in order to decide who should fight first, they play rock, paper, scissors in a light hearted scene even though their sons were both just killed by buu

even watching it as an adult it infuriated me

yeah there was plenty of fukkery during the cell saga. One of the worst moments was when goku gives up than gives cell a sensu bean before he fought his son smh. And since cell has that sayien dna he was able to get a power boost.
Than cell fukked up trying to push gohan to his full potential instead of just killing them all. U know that was the vegetta in him taking over lol

Goku would do it under the guise of testing himself, Vegeta does the same to establish dominance and conquer. It would be the same result. Everyone should have known that would be the case the moment he squares up to fight anyone. Goku, Zarbon, Recoome, Ginyu, Freiza, everyone. Thats just what dude does, but Krillin ass though!?

It's not in goku's character to kill someone (gero) that hadn't done anything yet

SSJ3 Goku was stronger than kid buu so fusing was pointless. The issue was his SSJ3 drained his living body, that's why he couldn't beat chibi buu as easily as he wanted.
