Alright brehs...here we go. We have consistent threads for everything except actual leftist ideals. No fence sitting, temporary endorsements, or horseshoe theories. Please do not derail the potential thread criticizing leftist figures for their misdeeds. We get it.

Genuine questions and input are welcomed. Nobody will be reported for derailment :lolbron:

I'm gonna post a couple links. Lets build.

If a real revolution is possible, where will it come from? How do we reconcile real convictions with abhorrent conditions for a large global population? I don't have an iphone and don't wear jordans so don't bring that random shyt up.

I have a grip of pdfs from jstor that can be uploaded if anyone is interested. I'll list journal subjects soon.

This is for the righteous holdouts who don't want to be associated with trumpset but talk about Clinton's transgressions :leostare:

Really not that difficult, the first major step we as a society need to take is campaign finance reform. Which is easier said than done, because ruining democratic elections through campaign finance has low key been a main objective of the right wing’s political agenda since the 1970s: Powell memorandum, through Buckley v. Valleo, and Citizen’s United.

Before we address global issues, we need to address domestic problems. And our crumbling infrastructure resulting from the military-industrial complex and a gross mismanagement of funds won’t be addressed until we elect government officials whose pockets aren’t being lined with blood money from weapons contracting or other military investures. Such as Harry Reid signing that 4 billion dollar program at the Pentagon to study UFOs for his friend or whatever. Or the far more egregious example of dikk Cheney’s Halleburton making money off of wars started off fabricated evidence.

Not to mention, curbing dynastic wealth in political families would drastically reduce our chances of entering into multi-generational crusades from families like the Bushes and Clintons. Our society was set up to curtail the possibility of tyranny by setting term limits, but if the same handful of people are the ones controlling things, then we face the same potential outcomes monarchies do when one incompetent king or family rules for too long and brings everyone down with them.

If one considers themselves leftist, then does communism have to be the end (political, social) goal or can socialism suffice?
i think its a more general term than only for pro-communism. i think the end goal most leftists want is probably more thorough than those gained by the socialism we see in many moderate left european states though

Iran All Night and Day

On the other hand, once you quit looking for some immediate event that might have set people off, it’s not like the Iranian people don’t have plenty of things to protest. It’s hard to talk about this when you’re somebody who doesn’t want to feed the worst instincts of the DC foreign policy establishment, but the Iranian government is repressive, arbitrary in the way it renders justice, generally hostile toward minorities, corrupt, increasingly militarized…it’s no picnic. Some of those conditions are the product of external provocation, but others are endemic to the way Iranian politics have developed since 1979. I’ll say a bit more about this below.

The questions we need to ask are what is our end game and what are some tangible goals we can obtain
-Universal Healthcare System in the US, preferably a single payer system.
-free public college / university
-require teachers at every level to at least have a masters degree(increase pay to incentivize better career oriented professionals)
-progressive tax system(no way should the rich be paying a lower proportion than people who struggle to keep the lights on and food on the table)
-effective community outreach: end ghetto's, end food deserts, fix infrastructure in deteriorating neighborhoods, modernize parks, focus on preventative health care, focus on preventative violence,
-Modernize Voting. shyt can be done through a text or fingerprint for those who have nothing to hide.....

I haven't even gotten past the introduction yet. But it seems that Gaddafi was correct in trying to institute a gold standard in Africa. A break away from Western economies would allow Africa to develop a more holistic approach to its economy and be able to develop economic and health programs to address its needs. Trade of its resources to build infrastructure (quickly) would be of great help to its independence shared economy as well.
