Brehs I have a question. I opted to have federal and state taxes withheld from the unemployment. Is that smart? Or should I recieve the whole unemployment and pay the IRS back later?

If you elect for them not to take taxes, offset with a tax deduction. Like open an IRA savings and put $25- $50/ month in it. You’ll get a dollar for dollar tax deduction for the contributions.

When you file, can you do it online? And once you get the max amount per week from the state, do they automatically add on the $600 per month or did you have to fill out more paperwork?

With unemployment, you'll get your weekly unemployment money (it doesn't have to be the maximum) plus $600 every week if you're eligible for the pandemic unemployment assistance. I'm not sure what state you're in. In New York, I submitted the application for regular unemployment then I submitted the application for the pandemic unemployment to get the $600.
