I just noticed all the big Rap stars are kissing 30 (not a bad thing I wish them a long life)

But why hasn’t Gen Z been able to produce any rap stars that can toe the line? I can’t think of a single rapper in that generation that’s as big as someone like Drake, Kendrick, or Travis Scott. Maybe pop smoke (rip) if he didn’t die? central cee? NBA youngboy? Ice spice? But all these cats were still born before 2000. Ain’t a person born after 2000 That’s blown up.

I think that speaks volumes tbh, might be a huge shift coming

People mention Pop Smoke, XXX, and Juice Wrld, and though none of them are my demo, they were probably the closest til their unfortunate deaths. I feel for the current gen though, they really just have Youngboy, Lil Tecca, Lil Nas X, Ice Spice, and Destroy Lonely to look forward to.

Perfect storm.

- some don't have what it takes to be stars
- some aren't interested in being stars, just momentary clout
- some know the game from their elder circles and refuse to sell themselves to play...no heavy marketing push accordingly
- fast food music for fast food consumers = the "artist" life cycle is now maybe what...6 months?

etc. etc.

Lil tecca pulled a uno reverse And decided to be underground :dead:. I don’t think ice spice could sell a stadium/arena solo. I can def see lil nas x and crazy to say youngboy too I didn’t know his fan base was that deep. Destroy lonely got some work to do before he becomes a household name
Glorilla & Docheii are considered Gen Z. But they're not superstars, just stars.
Its looking slow on the male side :francis:

DDG flopped :mjcry:
Glo and doechii fr probably the closest

Gen Z learned the behind the scenes of the entertainment industry at the same time they were first exposed to it, first generation to grow up like that, so it’ll take people with otherworldly talent to impress them and even then that person still has to be relatable and very accessible.

Its actually the best time to get back into Jazz. If Gen Z was smart they would switch to that lane.

Let rap die or let cacs have it, its dumb, degenerate, and destructive.
