Stop making excuses for these bums.
Big men today aint dominanting today because they trash. Put the 90's big men in 2014 they would score at will damn near
It's not excuses, it's truth. Star big men from the 90s would still be great but you wouldn't be able to run an offense through them and they wouldn't ne nearly as effecient or dominant as they were in the 90s. You can't just throw the ball into the post and let big men just go to work anymore.
I am not about to summarily dismiss the impact of zones or defenses or entry passes but we can't summarily dismiss the impact of fundamentals and mental toughness as well. If nobody was able to get on the block and beast then I might be more inclined to accept that explanation but you still got Duncan and Dirk's old asses doin work. You got perimeter guys like Bron, Kobe, Melo, even Wade taking guys down in the post and going to work. KD is steadily working towards being able to do so. Desire, heart, and skill >>>>> any excuse you want to make.
Duncan and Dirk have amazing coaches who run very complex motion offenses to get good entry passes plus and are very good passers out of the post.
Lebron and Wade are very good passers out of the post so it's hard to double them plus, as you see, it's different for perimeter players because they're able to handle the rock.
Kobe and Melo don't run an offense out of the post but rather use it as a supplementary skill to rheir overall offensive again and use it for mismatches. PF and C do that today too. Ask Wade what happened when he got switched onto Diaw.
Blacklethicism has changed...
We got 6'9" and up cats moving like guards... Everybody wants to be the next LeBron now... And none of these fathers or coaches are forcing their sons into the post..
I don't really buy the rule changes excuse... I still believe a properly coached traditional big man can dominate in this league... ESPECIALLY now since most of these guys have never had to defend against one
Add in new age athleticism and
We have a bunch of great offensive big men. They don't dominate like you think. Cousins, Jefferson, Brooke Lopez, Aldridge, Horford, etc.
Why don't they dominate? Because their overall team offense isn't usually very good because running an offense through a back to back post player is typically a bad idea now.

Big Al was carrying Charlotte last year..and he was feasting on Miami in the playoffs, actually making the games pretty competitive for the talent the team had until he fukked up his ankles. Post play can still get it done. Big Al gonna show u this year with Lance added to the squad to start over bum ass Gerald Henderson
You might think Big Al was doing a good job but it wasn't doing a much as you think because the overall team offense suffered and Miami was content to give Big Al as many of those tries as he want because it doesn't so much for their offense but, even then, in key points or momentum changers, they swarmed him and got stops because they knew exactly what to do.
Miami slept walk through that series. They were never in any real threat. Charlotte's offense was too simple and Miami was too athletic for that series to turn out any other way.
Remember guys, I'm not saying post play is dead or that it's useless. I'm saying that running your offense through a back to the basket big men is pointless and next to impossible now.
