How is being alone terrifying? Terrifying is seeing an alien come to earth, because i know no matter what if he got here he can destroy the planet in one second.

Pretty much. It's damn near impossible to fully quantify. But the other side is out of 2 trillion galaxies we live in one, next to one star that has 8 planets and countless moons. Yet our one planet with water has life and we can't even reach our next star and think the planet next to us may still harbor life. Pretty damn incredible what is out there.
You know what's even more of a trip, all of Star Trek focused on the Milky Way galaxy. They never explored another galaxy, only the planets in our own..

That's just the observable universe...the places where light has had time to reach earth since the Big Bang.
The entire universe is at the very least much bigger than that and probably infinite.
