:usure:

9x NBA All-Defensive First Team. Stop it.

:aicmon: We know he is not an elite defender in the league and not even in his position. Why he keeps getting voted amazes me. Chandler was DPOY and made 2nd team. Defensive teams is just like All Star appearances, popularity contest.

I dont see how this can be argued..Nobody in todays game can do what he did game 4 Pacers and Game 6 Celtics in that spot..

Points boards and asts :wow: all while playing great D playing close to 48 minutes and amazingly not getting tired..Add in his size strength and court vison only a damn fool would make a case for somebody else

you guys went off on a tangent, but this thread has some merit

you have to go back to Shaq in his prime to find a sizable gap between the top 2 players in the league... late 90's-early 00's Shaq was definitely the best player in the league, although Duncan was a clear #2... I don't know if the gap between Shaq and Duncan was more or less than the gap between Bron and Durant though, it's really a toss up IMO

before that it was clearly Jordan during the 2nd 3peat, as there was no real clear cut #2 guy back then

before that it was Hakeem during their 2 year title run... same with Jordan, not really a clear cut #2, although you could make a case for D. Rob/Shaq, both of whom Hakeem outplayed during that run

The gap isn't that wide. Bron is on his third bite at the apple while this is KD first rodeo. Kevin Durant shoots better and during the season they were separated by one rebound. They don't play the same type of game. LeBron offense this entire series as been the "bull in a china shop" offense. Nothing special about that other than physical attributes KD wasnt born with. Assists won't ever be close cause Bron dominate the ball while KD play better off the ball. Asking KD to be a physical brute down low is the same as asking Lebron to be effective on 17 touches a game while ur coach run handoffs 25 feet from the basket. They have different strengths and weaknesses. I like Bron but the gap is more closer than wider.

Let's keep this shyt in perspective you fanboys. After Game 1, yall were ready to commit suicide. Now he's the top 5 all time

Bron - 30ppg (46%), 10rbs, 4ast, 2stl, 0 blk
Durant - 31ppg (57%), 6rbs, 2ast, 1stl, 1blk

Bron is killing the boards. Durant is scoring more, more efficiently despite playing 5 minutes less than Bron these last two games. Refs :lolbron: Not really an excuse though, OKC just gonna have to find a way to keep KD on the floor.

I said he fringe, you could make a case either way but im talking dudes in their prime..even if you think Kobe top 10 he isnt playing like a top 10 player right now

When its all said & done he'll go down as top 10. 5 rings with those stats are gonna put him in there. He's arguably top 2-3 player to play for the Lakers so that argument alone qualifies him

Lebron is and has been the best individual player in the league for a few years now. Doesn't mean he's the most clutch but he is the best. I mean who can do what he does at the level he does it. Albeit Durant is a better scorer, Paul/Rondo/Williams are better passers, alot of others better defenders and shooters but who else is the total package? What can't he do?

Shaq at the start of the decade has a case.

Tim Duncan would have something to say about that.

:remembers when some said Bron wasn't even the best player on his team:
:considers what would be said about Bron if the Heat were down 2-1 with no change in his performance:
:accepts the fact that hyperbole, overeaction, oversimplification, and myopia know no bounds so doesn't even respond to actual thread topic:

This guy saying in his prime as if that somehow makes his post less stupid. He realized he fukked up and tried to backtrack because Kobe and Duncan are still in the league. That in his prime shyt means nothing because Durant's not in his prime and neither is anyone else that you would compare to LeBron right now. He's been the best player in the league for the past two years and who exactly was his competition for the top spot? That lazy dude Wade, young Rose and young Durant? I'm not even throwing salt because the dude is incredible, but the deficiency on the wings and among big man in the league is at its peak. There is a reason why LeBron is capable of guarding 5 positions in today's NBA and why KG became a top 3 center in 2 weeks. He's not guarding 5 positions like in the 90s.

He is certainly not doing that in the early 2000s against Shaq, Duncan or even C. Webb or KG in their prime.

Take LeBron James as he is right now. Implant him in the year 2003, how big is this "gap?" Is he the best player in the L? Probably not. So as that since Jordan thing doesn't mean as much because when Jordan was clearly the best in the 90s, there was lot more competition after that.

Look at the top 5 players in the L right now compared to 92.

LeBron is the only guy in the top 5 right now that would be better than any of those guys at their 92 status.
