There have been a lot of whispers that Eric Bieniamy won't land a HC job again this year

Could just be that most teams don’t wanna wait til after the super bowl to interview and hire a coach.. (and risk every other coach available being gone already)

chiefs success kinda setting him back

Didn't stop Matt Patricia's wack ass from being a hot commodity. Maybe the guy is just truly terrible at interviews and isn't impressive. Or maybe it's prejudice. But seeing Dan Campbell get a job - with less play calling experience than him - really makes me think something is up and it has nothing to do with resume or character.

It's amazing how these white coaches spend 2 years doing something and suddenly they're top candidates. As a Lions fan I'm even more in tune with this, because we got hoodwinked by the good old boy system last time. Brought in a respected outsider to help find a GM, and he prompted steered us to Bob Quinn. A guy with zero GM experience, who was just a pro scout guy. And being a white man with a master's degree, he bullshytted perfectly through his interview and got the job. Part of privilege is looking and sounding the part. I'd imagine Bieniemy gets in that room and doesn't have the best talking points, or the nicest suit, and sounds black enough to make certain types of people think he doesn't know what he's talking about, even when he clearly does know what he's talking about.

Eric doesn't have the right makeup to be a coach :mjpls:

I don't think I could have a beer w/ him, and it's important I bring in a coach who could "be one of the guys" :mjpls:

This 100%.

It's racial yet It's not.

The owners don't consciously hate black coaches. They just want people they can "relate" to. The average 60-year old white man will hire a 40-year old white guy who reminds him of his son....over a 40-year old breh....even if they say the exact same words (literally word 4 word) in the interview.

They can't even explain the "feeling" even though we all know what it is. Black coaches have to work 2x as hard to get in the door and then get booted just as quickly with no additional opportunities.

Urban Meyer is expected to save the Jags along with Lawrence. What pro-ready QB has Meyer developed outside of Alex Smith at Utah? Meyer wins but burns out quickly and has not shown a propensity to stick it out in tough situations.

No black coach would get the keys to a franchise on the verge of drafting a generational prospect like TL.

Problem with "interviews poorly" is that it assumes all candidates are asked the same questions and judged by the same rubric.

We don't actually know what goes on in these interviews. NFL teams tend to know who they want, especially with white coaches. A black coach has to REALLY shock them to get a shot. We can't be "average" and get the job. We have to really wow them. And that's to get a shytty job. Anything involving top flight QBs and potential for massive success.....almost never.

Look...

There's huge difference between HC and OC/DC. HC is like the manager. Their job is to supervise everyone.

Alotta coordinators who got HC jobs failed because.....They're meant to be coordinators. Nothing wrong with that...play your position.

Reading that article, son sounds like a coordinator. He doesn't see the entire picture as an executive needs too. Iono maybe he needs to get a lil older. Those of you who work and moved up in your jobs from employee to supervisor to manager, etc., you know there’s different mentalities and a person must be ready for what it entails.

The reason these average cacs get a shot is, they know how to play a game we as black men usually won't. It is what it is.

And besides cacs own all this, if we want to buck we need to create our own.

cant tell me this poster isn’t a cac.

Everywhere...You never there.

Shyt happens in the professional world on interviews EVERYDAY, b.

Imagine going into a white, professional space , sounding like Kendrick Perkins, with features looking like :birdman: and wardrobe fit that isn’t exactly aligned with the “unofficial uniform” of the men working in that sector. . . And you don’t have hardly any charisma with a lower social IQ...

Man it’s usually over for you... FROM THE JUMP. Usually you gotta have at least one of those four going for you , to even have a shot at moving past these folks’ perceptions, which are informed by superficial biases.

But fortunately for Eric B. he already has a really solid job , and I firmly believe he’ll get his look soon. Too many media outlets are all over this story .

No it's not a cac. I'm a black man in my 40s who has the honesty to speak the truth as I see it. As I've found it to be from working with cacs.

Is it racial, to a point of course it is, but it isn't just old fashioned, klan hat racism. There's culture mixed in there. There's other elements mixed in.

Honestly, we need to create a new word other than "racist" to accurately capture the situations. It's why many cacs are like ":picard: I'm not racist". Because they don't hate black people, they hate CERTAIN black people. They're uncomfortable around certain black people.

I'm grown and honest enough to admit I make cacs uncomfortable. I'm intelligent enough to understand why.

Like I said in prior post, "If I owned hip hop, I wouldn't care HOW GOOD EMINEMS RESUME IS, he would never be an Executive in my business". My shyt is for nikkas.
