To Nas's defense, he and Hov have been accused of being a snake.

Probably, more so Hov at this point.

It happens to the select few who reached that pedigree of success and are still alive to enjoy it.

Eminem is the only one on that tier that I can think of off the top who hasn't been accused of disloyalty.

Keep in mind I said LIVED to enjoy that measure of success.

Industry politics are complicated and these are rappers. Not educated business men. They learn as they go along. Not condoning anything.

That's what I hate about Takeover to this day. Hov has the entire world repeating the mantra that "Takeover was all facts." Yet in reality unless you only talked to salty ass "pure hip hop" fans, MOST people would laugh at the idea that Nas only had one hot album.

You can't tell me Jay doesn't like IWW. He probably thinks I Am is decent. After all, I Am is basically a post RD, pre Blueprint Hov album: some dope shyt mixed with terrible attempts at radio records.

"Biggie, Jay-Z and Nas" is a line from 1997. Why would he say that if he thought IWW was wack?

U know back then Jay was tryna gather Nas's core fanbase so he can be top don. That's all that was. And i didnt care what he thought. He got some filler trash as well.

I love the bit about Jay talking to Nas at Steve Stoute party.....and Nas' response, despite that Jay is on point for most of it.....Nas interviews were particularly great in those days, he had quotes for day, the elitist yet humble street poet who wanted nothing to do with the industry politics and the corporate realm.....

Nas is my #1, interchanged with Pac, Jay is third.

Nas never lost the streets. Hov won over the clubs, DJs, and mainstream but Nas was always winning with the streets. Damn I wish he had been smarter about building a production team tho, like Hov did with Just Blaze/Kanye/Bink.
