I dunno, I need to rewatch it. I remember obviously loving the acting performances, but thought the movie was kinda boring and sort of "pointless" if you will.

Pointless in what way? Im curious because it's kind of the point. Dude never really had anything but his dream and his son. Dude slowly began to lose it after the accident.
