His following is/was so crazy that it scared teams away. Never have we seen a guy takeover mid-season, after the team had a 1-4 record, lead them to the 2nd round of the playoffs and never be given a chance to start again. You have never seen that and will never see that again. ANY other QB that did that would have gotten a deal somewhere and would have been given a fair chance to compete for the starting job. shyt on his QB skills all you want but his insane following is the biggest reason he was never given another chance.
fukk nikka Elway always with the :beli: face after every win. backstabbing hoe :pacspit:

tebow was truly a phenomenon, dude was super hyped from the moment he stepped on campus. it was insane how many people seemed to be aware and talking about his every move. every photo he took with a chick went viral. this was pre-today's social media too; i can only imagine what it would be like if he was playing today

Yea this is a dude that got eaten up by the hype machine. It's kinda crazy how ahead of his time his following was. Tebow Mania. I wonder what Chip Kelly plans to do with dude.

He's arguably the greatest college football player of all-time. His game just doesn't translate to the pro level. Plus ESPN and CBS hyped the shyt out of him and then fed off the ratings.

No he wasn't. Truthfully Vince Young was better. In fact Young is the first collegiate quarterback to throw for 3,000 yards and run for 1,000 yards in a single season. I don't think that Tebow ever did that.

Another thing is that Tebow was on a team that lost more games in one season than Vince Young's team lost in Vince Young 's whole career.

Vince Young wasn't that good before the national championship year

Tebow was a better passer in his Heisman year than Young was in that 3K/1K year tho, and had more total yards (albeit on a ton more running attempts)

What? The year before winning the National Title; Vince Young's team beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl. That Rose Bowl team only had 1 loss. That team was 12-1 or 13-1 or some ridiculous record like that. You might want look up Vince Young, because he was an unreal college quarterback.

Tebow was an SEC media creation. He wasn't the starting quarterback on that first Florida national title team. Chris Leake was the starting quarterback on that team. In fact Leake won the MVP in the title game. Tebow was a gimmick is first year. Leake would lead the team all the way to the goal line and the Meyer would send Tebow in to plow through the line or to throw a jump pass. No one knew at the time that the jump pass was Tebow's best throw.
