Problem is people confusing what they want to hear and what the marketing companies push to control what you think you like. You don't like cigarettes cause they good, you like them cause for over 75 years marketing companies have convince you of it.

That's retarded. Cigarettes are chemically addictive. Apparently, so is stripper rap.

oh really? Guess you never heard of the diamond trade of advertising campaigns. Educating the customer on a "need" they never had is a very common tactic that when done properly can shape public opinion.

"Keep the lie simple."

"Keep the lie small."

"Keep repeating it."

"Eventually they will believe it."
Kind of how lobsters were known to be the cockroaches of the sea and food for poor folk and prisoners until companies began marketing it as a "gourmet" dish and "delicacy".

The native Americans taught cacs how to use lobsters as crop fertilizer when they arrived as convict outcasts from the Old World.

Yes.

More women want to hear Cardi B rather than Jean Grae or Rapsody.

It's not some government conspiracy that most people aren't tryna think when they hear music.

Hes basically saying through the power of media, you are programmed what to like, from Jordans, to fastfood, to music.

The reason why, pill popping, thot hop/ratchet music is so prevelent

you know it's true when Rapsody on somebody else's record and even fans who kinda like her can't stand her getting shoehorned onto these records

i think that the stripper rap argument shows the disconnect that the older rappers have today.

as much as jermaine dupre wants to act like he didn't have a hand in it, he needs to keep in mind that the same young rappers he's criticizing, they were watching videos like "welcome to atlanta" with him and ludacris. they had the models all twerking and looking pretty. cardi b, megan the stallion and all these wack female rappers basically grew up listening and watching all these artists that were popular in the last decade and all the shallow content they dropped. the music wasn't all that great either. :yeshrug: that was what was hot in the streets at the time. they literally inspired a bunch of kids off of this shyt where they think that that was hip hop and rap. at one point in the last decade, the video models were more celebrated than the female rappers. folks stopped caring about the female rappers to the point you had the female rappers and singers having to compete with the video models where they had to sexualize themselves more to capture people's attention. now these older rappers are acting all shocked that the younger generation that were watching them are putting out the same shallow content they put out back in the day and are even personifying it. you reap what you sow.

Serious question but didn’t aDrake give the city girls a feature to get them known? Seems like a money grab that won’t last

Nobody is listening to this hoe rap. Change the station. Stop letting rolls control what you listen to. Whenever hoe rap comes on when I’m listening to a radio station, I go to the next song.
