It's not about one magical policy to make everything better. It's about the fact that doing nothing has never solved anything.

Your post and all those posts after yours... and still nobody mentioning specific legislation that would work.

Even if you hault production there will be a black market. The only true way to control guns is (but even now it's too late because of once again the sheer number of guns in circulation) control how guns are made in the first place. Gun control would've been done through technology. The gun would have a smart chip and GPS only activating the gun in designated areas (Owners property, Gun Range, Hunting area). That way, even if you owned the gun you couldn't go anywhere you want and shoot it because it wouldn't activate. And finally, the second activation mechanism would be via the owners prints. If every gun was built this way, there would be little to now gun deaths, and even if they're were, the crime would be solved within 24 hours. People would be reduced to doing drive by's with nail guns or bow and arrows.

Every time someone gets killed, everyone attacks gun laws, the 2nd amendment, blah blah blah. That's not the problem.

The issue and the main reason why shyt will never change even if they do pass stricter laws is the production of weapons in the first place. There are too many guns in circulation and that's not including the new ones that get manufactured all the time. The first thing that needs to be done is to eliminate production of new guns, but we know that will never happen. Too much money involved. And quite honestly there are enough guns in circulation right now to last a few generations. Capitalism always wins. And even if you do stop production, it will increase the value of the ones already in circulation. Then you will have guns coming in through Mexico.

So basically, there is no solution. People kill people, not guns. We are so disconnected as a society and so desensitized to violence that its just part of our culture. Our way of life. People just need to be aware of their surroundings more.
THANK YOU. The possible gun control laws that are being mentioned will help extremely little, if at all. Yes universal background checks does make sense, but most of these guys doing the mass killings would have passed them. Or in the case of the Sandy Hook massacre, it wasn't even his guns. And for the regular everyday criminals, they are not buying their guns from stores. They get them from the black market.

Smaller capacity magazines? Whooo big deal. So the shooter has to reload an extra time or two. How long does it take to reload a semi-automatic weapon? 1.5 seconds?

The ONLY solution is the drastic reduction of the manufacture of ALL guns which is NEVER going to happen for several reasons, including gun nuts(and not just the NRA), money, and jobs. Like other industries, Conservatives will argue that the elimination of gun manufacturing will eliminate thousands of jobs, similar to their argument against proposed regulations on the oil and coal industries in reference to climate change.

And there are already more than 300,000,000 guns in this country. More guns than there are cars. Government gonna run up in citizens cribs and start taking their guns? I would love to see that play out.

Unfortunately I think the gun issue in America is already a lost cause.

each state should have laws on par of or if they choose stricter than the states surrounding them.

“I keep two full mags in my Glock case. And the ARs & AKs all have loaded mags,” Ms. Harper wrote. “No one will be ‘dropping’ by my house uninvited without acknowledgement.”

Sounds like some Coli brehs :mjpls:

Law enforcement officials have said they recovered 14 firearms and spare ammunition magazines that were purchased legally either by Mr. Harper-Mercer, 26, or an unnamed relative.

All that protection :mjpls:

“She said that ‘my son is a real big problem of mine,’ ” Ms. Jefferson said in a telephone interview. “She said: ‘He has some psychological problems. Sometimes he takes his medication, sometimes he doesn’t. And that’s where the big problem is, when he doesn’t take his medication.’ ”

Responsible gun owner keeping 14 guns around someone who has psychological problems :mjpls:

All is fine and dandy The children being shot in America :mjpls:
