These same people :cape:for punk were probably chanting sellout to the rock when he left for movies. Same people complaining about the rock/Batista taking spot away from young wrestlers will be chanting for punk when/if he returns in a part time deal.
Not everyone but I'm sure most of the smarks/punk fans fall on this category.

Breh, if Punk didn't have pull, we wouldn't have this thread right now. Whether he's as big of a star as Austin doesn't matter; he was a big enough star to walk away from his job with no consequences except angry fans. Only a handful of WWE wrestlers throughout history can do that, so the star power thing is a non-issue.

Also, Austin said what he did was a mistake, he only meant that he regrets pissing away money...
I never said he did not have pull. At that point of austin career he earned his pull. Cm punk is a star but no where near the level of austin. I could care less of he is there or not. He is boring to me. Comparing the two situations is not the same. Punk was and is replaceable. Guys like austin are a special breed.

:what:

The times are different, man. Cena and Punk were the only 2 top guys. DB was rising even more so to list him between them 2 is a non-issue.

You can't compare their careers when both worked in different eras of wrestling.

:what:When punk left daniel was already the bigger star when punk left.

youre right i cant compare the two careers because one is considered by many as the greatest and the other has three career defining moments on this board. The pipe bomb, being called a short order cook and quitting.

Didn't like the way their character's direction were headed. On top of that injuries. 2 big stars for their time, so they were like "fukk it."

Austin was gone for around 6-8 months before he came back. Difference here is Punk's contract is up in July. I hope all you people giving Punk shyt also did the same for Stone GOAT.
Exactly but TSC is gon TSC.

Exactly it was twelve years ago and even Austin admits he was completely wrong. :smugpunk: ain't showing that type of humility anytime soon.

Not exactly, Austin just said he left too much money on the table and he should have made as much money as he possibly could while he could. Common regret of retired men. Punk earned over 10 million in WWE, lives relatively frugal, and owns the Chicago building he lives in. He has a different motivation than Austin. Some wants to make as much as he can, some wants to make just enough to have "fukk you" money.

Austin legitimately saved the WWE from going out of business. Punk is the lowest drawing champion since Diesel.
