Theres no reason to believe that DEAN AMBROSE can't be every bit as good as CM PUNK

for some reason I don't have faith in them pushing rollins. I can really see him getting lost in the shuffle or hopping between semi-successful midcard gimmicks like Cody Rhodes

Yeah, I can totally see that happening. But I think that at some point he'll start getting noticed like Dolph and they will give him an opportunity, and I'm confident he will take full advantage of it and not get lost in the shuffle.

he hasn't had one BAD promo in the WWE and he outshines everyone he has a verbal segment with. Did first-year-in-wwe-ECW CM PUNK have a memorable promo?

Memorable like his Pipe Bomb? Nah. But when ECW was in that "My name is" phase, those promos were better than anything Dean has done so far, IMO.

Personally, I think Seth beats Dean on quite a few occasions and I think a lot of Dean's stuff is overrated because people are still enamored with his deranged indy persona. We always hear about the mannerisms, which I completely agree are important, but I'm still waiting for that moment where I'm like "oh yeah, I get it now." I get that feeling damn near every week from Bray.

I haven't seen his indy work, so I don't know what he's capable of, but I know he's been very limited by the current gimmick he's running right now. They aren't given much else to say than "justice... blah blah blah.... believe in the Shield."

Yeah, you're right about that. But I still think he's been given a platform to show more than he has. And honestly, the WWE probably ain't going to let him be the psycho druggie or whatever he was doing on the indy scene, so I'm interested in seeing what his solo character would actually be like.

So we can agree it worked.
Like I said 100 times during that time, there was nothing for champion Punk to draw with. The Rock and Stone Cold jerking around with no storylines going on wouldn't draw either working with Ryback and Alberto del Rio.
Yeah this so true . People acting like having him randomly feud with the clique was what people wanted to see. I think punk saw the parallels between how he was more over than cena and yet wasn't main eventing while somehow john cena randomly got involved with the authority ( people power ) when punk shouldve been fighting the machine and main eventing with the title like Bryan should be .

Yeah but I lost that debate with @R=G cause I quoted myself instead of him. :snoop:

If Rollins isn't the improved version of Jeff Hardy in a couple of years then it's just another missed opportunity by WWE.

This is true. I'm a Jeff Hardy fan but Seth gives you basically that same type of "please don't die on me" recklessness that makes him exciting without living the gimmick.

Right off the bat I like Seth better than Meth Hardy... I also think he is in danger of getting lost in the shuffle, though. One idea I had for him was for Dean and Reigns to go their separate ways and Seth stays leading a new Shield. Meanwhile Dean becomes the top heel, just known for being a villanous motherfukker on a level that hasn't been delivered for a long time. Roman Reigns should go on to become an anti-hero, main event several programs in the future versus the evil New Shield and his arch-nemesis Dean Ambrose.

Probably WWE only has plans to push Roman Reigns though.

Hasn't had one memorable promo in the WWE.
Dude ethered the fukk out of Foley in their encounters though. Thats pre-shield too. When he gets on his own and they give him the Bray Wyatt deal with writing his own promos well have a quotables thread up for him.

As for the topic, he can absolutely be better than Punk. Punk is often times too lanky for his offense so it comes away looking sloppy. In the indys you combat that by being stiff. In the E youre screwed.

Promowise, Punk does beat Ambrose but by a small margin. Punk has had about 7 years of big time experience with promos, Ambrose has time to develop but that window is closing with every legend that dies.

Ambrose has the scumminess of Edge, the slick heel ability of a Ted DiBiase, and the evil nature of a 2009 Randy Orton all into one. As long as they dont turn him face and give him a stupid catch phrase hes going to be the ultimate breakout guy of the shield in the long run
