man, this isn't true and i wish black people would stop spreading this myth. if blacks had a choice to shop in the "black owned version" of any type of store, i'm willing to bet we would. if we had a "black owned version" of every product, i know we'd support it. the problem is we're severely lacking in the black owned business department. blacks simply aren't selling products that other blacks need.

for example, three local black owned businesses in my area; one is a copy/print/computer spot. one is a vaporizer shop, the other is a smoke shop. people support the copy/print/computer shop all the time because they supply a service that's needed. the vaporizer shop is usually empty and will probably close soon, and the smoke shop sells blunts, joints, and scented oil, but it stays relatively busy. 2 out of these 3 businesses are useless, and doesn't serve the overall community in a beneficial way.

what we need are grocery stores, grocery stores filled w/products that are made/grown/produced by other black people. y'all can't tell me other black people wouldn't support it if the prices were comparable.
