Rap music has trapped itself into this fukk-bytch-nikka-shyt-money-hate box, every single rap song that comes out these day revolve around these profanities

The only thing that saves rap music is the beats, and also that other genres are also dead, so for now rap isn't really dead, it's in a plateau, but it's in a position to get knocked off any day now

Well, like any decade in its 2nd to 3rd year (1983, 1993, 2003, 2013?) we are gonna see a big change soon. When something gets predictable and boring, something comes around and changes shyt up.

Hey brehs I did a similar thread some time ago so I can understand OP, even though since I've been digging and some dope music has come out, so I didn't stray too far away...

Anyway I was wondering, do these discussions go on in other genres? Because this "issue" regularly comes up. I don't follow other genres enough to know, but if not, I guess it's either

A. Hip-hop is more "plagued" by bs music
B. Hip-hop fans are more "critical" of the genre than fans of other genres, and expect more quality
C. There is a wider divide between "mainstream" (or popular) and "underground" music in Hip-hop than in other genres...sometimes it's like two entirely different genres.

Just something that crossed my mind...probably a combination of all three but I think that I'm personnaly quite demanding of the genre.

U sound extremely close minded bruh. There is PLENTY of hip hop out there that is new and diverse. U just don't know where to find it. I bet if I asked u, what "new" subjects u would like to hear, u wouldn't even know

I will admit there's a lot that I haven't really checked out (ex: Danny Brown) but then again there's a lack of appeal to me among a lot of what's now current and new.

I'm not saying that none of what's currently "cool", or happening right now isn't good or bad, I'm just saying nothing about it seems interesting or appealing. It's like the music itself is just going through the motions.

That's cool. But it sounds like u have lost your passion and love for hip hop. U should move on to another genre of music
