I won't say that all black Republicans are sellouts, but it's like this...

If you make less than 100k/yr and you're a Republican, you're an idiot.

If you make over 100k/yr and you're a Republican, you're an a$$hole.

I'd say that's true regardless of race. That said, I do wish there was a viable alternative to Democrats.

The only black republicans are people who dont care about their race and or people that tapdance for whitey. Either way you have a chance to support a black man and you go against him for some white bytch who calls you ****** while he eats his supper at night in his mormon home. fukk him, fukk blacks who support republicacs, and fukk nicki minaj

Problem is, all those principles they claim to run on, they actually don't do. They claim to be for fiscal responsibilty and small government but history shows they spend just as much if not more than democrats, and they advocate the government controlling big parts of your life. Under bush government grew and spending went up. They say they are against entitlements and government handouts but they give away more money than democrats. The only people
Who benefit from republican rule are the wealthy and the religious. I agree with some of the stuff they say on tv as well but if you take a closer look they are really not about that life.

As for the racism it is very real and it is embraced by the republican party, if you can turn a blind eye to that and still cast your vote for them, then you are supporting it.

I'm not really in agreement of anything of what you've stated above, nor am I here to debate it really, however what I don't agree with is the idea that the OP inadvertantly threw out there is that blacks should automatically subscribed to group-think approach to problems.

What I sometimes get from other black democrats is this perverse sense of "if you don't think like us, then something must be wrong with you" mentality. In addition, I think I've observed this uber-aggressive "with us or against us" type of thinking since around 2006 or so that launches into a nuclear fall out mode whenever the idea that there are some blacks who simply prefer to identify with the Republican Party.

I personally may not agree with Democrats, but I can appreciate some of their approaches to the problems, just as I can from Black Libertarians, Black Green Party members, so on and so fourth. But this demonization, which the OP also alluded to is what sort of causes people such as myself to simply prefer not to have the discussion at all and allow the chips to fall where they may. Overall though, I agree with his post for the most part.

^^Exhibit A...it's like some blacks (primarily ardent Obama supporters) were raised similar to chickens in a cock fight or pits in a backyard dog fight...I mean they are just out for blood...lol and nothing less. It's the sense that other blacks who don't think like them need to be "controlled" and as quickly as possible. That's probably the most disturbing part about it, not necessarily the fact that they are Democrats or identify with them more.

I'm assuming you are a young black man. Out of curiosity what is it with the republican party that interests you?

Black republicans are cowards which is why I can never respect them.....

it's probably hard to remain a democrat when you become a millionaire. you see almost half of every large check you make going straight to taxes. hell, it's how a lot of black celebs end up in tax trouble.

:aicmon: This would be a fact even if you are republican.

arguably "young", but probably older and more experienced than most of the posters here. Honestly, I'm not really here to get into the reasons as to why. I think I was more drawn to the thread because the OP sort of indirectly brought up a point that I've noticed.

i agree, but conservatives have convinced the masses that social spending is where all their money is going, and not military spending. plus, republicans are usually more inclined to cut social welfare and provide tax cuts to the wealthy.

That's actually a result of republican polocies. They lower taxes for the richest of the rich then make the middle to upper class pay for it. A 1 millionaire might pay 20% taxes while a billionaire might pay 1%

That's why people call them sellouts. They used the system to become successful then turn their back on their family just to keep a couple extra $ In their pocket. There are not very many black people that come from old money so chances are other people's tax money helped you get where you are.

As a young black man myself who likes to learn from others opinions I sincerely would like to know what it is that draws you to the republican party. I'm not looking to debate or disagree with your views, I'm looking for enlightenment maybe there is something I'm missing.
