There's too much flexxing on social media, we need to take a page out of China's book and ban flexxing/flaunting

That goes against the first amendment and frankly is anti-American.

I do think we should have more control over what we see on our feeds though.

No government that would do this would stop at “wealth flaunting” on social media.

Look up all things you can’t post on Chinese social media. You wouldn’t even be able to make a post like this big upping another country on a site like thecoli :dead:

its very easy to see how people talk themselves into authoritarianism lol.

yall want people to stop flexing then fix the root issue of wealth inequality thats been going on for 60 years via bipartisan legislation.

You can have freedoms and limits. Once upon a time liquor and weed was banned.

the puritans who lobbied for banning alcohol ushered in a massive crime wave and the beginning of organized crime which this country is still dealing with today. had they done nothing, this country would probably be better off in many respects.

it's like people who claim they're pro-life but their policies ultimately lead to more dead women, even fetuses and broken families.

people who want to ban sex education will see an increase in teen pregnancies and STD rates in their community.

these dudes think they got some perfect censorship policy that should be made law that no one else will use that as precedent for their own draconian agenda. :snoop:

And yet the country is spiraling down the gutter with our current individualistic goals and ideas :skip:

Yes people need some sort of authority over their lives. Banning flaunting should be one.

When people stop reacting to it, people will stop doing it.

People primarily flex online for two reason
- It grows engagement that can be monetized
- They enjoy the attention they receive from it

These are two things that require external validation from others to be possible.

Its not different from build-a-bops twerking half naked on IG. They do it because men follow and give them money.

No market, no product. There is personal responsibility here in how people choose to spend their time on social media. Banning it on social media isnt going to change anything. Whether its preacher pimps, recording artists, drug dealers, or MLM scammers, people gravitate to the appearance of success and have done so for years. Gold had literally no industrial purpose besides being shiny until the 20th century, but its been used for thousands of years primarily for flexing.

Yeah and we realized that was dumb and caused more crime and incarceration. You want to go back to bootlegging and nikkas getting 20 years for a blunt? :dead:

You missed my entire point.

Banning one thing doesn't make a country authoritarian. Are you saying otherwise?

if you think America is in decline because of " individualistic goals and ideas" and not the gutting of the working class for 60 years then idk what to tell you.

I just noticed your username, of course you'd be fanatical about authority in peoples lives. :scust:

except it wasn’t “one thing banned” there was a thing called JIM CROW going on at the time also. That’s the point.

There is no “one thing” with a rule like this :dead:

Flaunting is a byproduct of Capitalism:pachaha:

Then why is China having to explicitly ban it? If you want to argue flaunting is exacerbated by late stage capitalism then cool but the idea humans don't showboat in non-capitalistic environments is dubious at best. But once again, you dont fix flaunting by banning flaunting...you make it less appealing by redistributing wealth.

This is a normal American apartment, and men who look like this get women who look like this based solely on their personalities. And, this man wasn’t elected president twice.
