They still getting a week off. Its all because there is no benefit for them. Its not gonna boost your profile or income like it used to and fans arent accepting last years dunks, let alone dunks from a decade ago...nikkas have to defy the laws of gravity :mjlol: and they are more invested in looking for something to hate on and nitpick than enjoying the show.

If they could dunk and win a contest.
.it would absolutely boost their profile...

.why mac is not on an NBA roster is criminal..
Why is this kid not the marquee backup for Luka at the very least.

After thinking, I have no issue with the participants. Mac McClung being a G-leaguer in the contest should’ve never happened though. Stephon Castle is a top 5 pick in the draft. Buzelis was a lottery pick. I don’t know much about Jackson, but he does have hops.

Years ago when Lavine and Gordon put on a show, neither were stars at the time. Gordon was a top 5 pick and Lavine was a lottery pick. Would like more stars to participate but these young guys could be stars down the line. People act like current stars like Mitchell and Lillard never competed in the dunk contest (format was different when Lillard did it though).

Stephen A is still pushing this dumb idea of having dunkers across America being sponsored by NBA stars. If Mac McClung is any indication, no one cares about some no name being in a dunk contest. No one even watches those dunk contests featuring professional dunkers when they come on television. People want to see actual NBA players.
