These days, the Chris Rock "Niiggas vs Black Ppl" bit kinda makes me cringe

I can hardly listen to it and enjoy it anymore....not that it's not funny or outdated....but mainly b/c over the past 10-15 years since it came out, I've heard SO many white people just feel so comfortable re-hashing it. And they would just be so comfortable bringing it up at parties, in class, wherever they happened to be. Literally like "racism is over". And not that Chris Rock was irresponsible in doing it at the time, but it seems to have become so on it's own.

(And to all you super-nikkas on here, no, I'm not gonna haul off and punch some random white person for re-hashing a Chris Rock sketch in which they're not talking to me directly, or referring to me as a nikka)

But I get what Dave Chappelle was saying in that interview when he said that the moment he realized that those white people on Chappele Show set were laughing at little TOO hard and having too much fun at the basis of some of the race-based skits he was doing & saying; and how they felt seemingly TOO comfortable repeating and making fun of the stuff....it was time for him to quit.

yeah, there's no way he knew it would be as big as it was.

I bet he doesn't do it in his act these days.

its hilarious, and it basically absolves me from all racist comments i make about black people because a black man said it first. thank you Chris.

chris rock actually took back that skit after realizing it gave whites free reign to call any black person they disliked a ******. only to fall behind the ****** vs black people rhetoric.

but it's like :manny: too late nikka, you already put it out there.

Really?

See, I never heard that.

But I believe it.

nah, it's true. too lazy to dig it up though but he regrets it retrospect.
Chris Rock said:
The controversy caused by Rock's constant use of the word nikka led him to remove the piece from his act. In a 60 Minutes interview, Rock said, "By the way, I've never done that joke again, ever, and I probably never will. 'Cos some people that were racist thought they had license to say ******. So, I'm done with that routine."

stop acting like wild animals and you won't have to worry about how white people view you anymore.... that's selling out though, right?

Chris Rock always struck me as the type of Black dude that hated growing up poor, undereducated and Black, and just took it out on the bottom half of Black society the so called n1ggers and that would be okay because he would always have the Black elite co-signing his sentiment, but now he realizes that Barack Obama is being called a n1gger by whites and he's the most powerful man in the world. So basically in the white mans mind, there's no difference.

What's wrong with growing up despising being poor or going to inadequate schools? You SHOULD hate it, it's not natural and it's not right when there's other ppl with the privelege that from the time they're born they're rich for life.

I'm sure he didn't hate being black....he's just a comedian. As you grow, get older you learn...same with Dave Chappelle. You see some of the stuff you did early on, though you meant well, may have been kinda irresponsible.
