I used to go out there every now and then when my dad lived out there

Always felt kind of suburban to me

Down by the ferry you had what looked like projects from I remember

Remember I got a mean fade and half moon from some spot called the haircut hut out there

Staten Island is HEAVILY suburban. Bunch of middle class and rich European neighborhoods. I think it's the only borough in NYC that is mostly Republican also. But with that said, the lil parts that are predominantly Black are some of the wildest hoods in NYC.

Never fukked with Wu besides Liquid Swords and Meth solo joints until after 25.

Their beats and unorthodox flows always struck me as odd when I was younger.

Maybe it was my uptown bias but they always did strike me as bummy dustheads from Staten island.

I try to tell people that 50 was at his best when he was super nonchalant about the shyt he was spitting and doing.

It wasn't about "aggressive content"

just an aggressive lifestyle.

He started being angry gangster rapper, he became generic angry gangster rapper.
That's true. I did enjoy all the humorous quotables on POAD

You owe a nikka? You don't wanna pay him? Kill him! - 50

this line ^^ always makes me kek

Fif was always cool with Meth, that's maybe also why it never popped off (other than the fact that Rza and his brothers are the real deal, and Ghost don't play).

After the Gza/50 shyt Meth went on Shade Inc and told them to not respond to Gza if they wanted to stay cool with him.

Who said he was afraid of Meth, Ghost, Rae? I said he didn't want real static with the Wu. I'll be the first to tell a n!gga that 50 done went to war with some big time gangstas in his life but you can easily see that his diss track towards Wu was weak as fvck compared to his other beef tracks.

I always took it as 50 was fans of them, he was talkin shyt to them nikkas because he felt obligated, not because he really had a problem.

He was a fan of Nas/lil homie too but he actually had a legit reason for that IMO.

Yea, even Raekwon was born in BK. But the whole Wu formation and mystique is Staten Island. Cats looked at them as some mysterious, dusted out, 5 percenter clan of goons from Staten Island that new how to rap.
nah i think Raekwon is actually from SI
