But stuff like this seriously this goes to show that gaming as a whole is not ready for that all digital future yet. Imagine getting an Xbox One today and not being able to even use the system due to the mandatory update during initial setup that can't be put on a flash drive.

This is true, but some websites have started to put up ddos "firewalls" where you have to prove you're a human before entering. shyt would be annoying if all sites did that, but it may happen more often.
