This is exactly what it is, but AAs are so mentally scarred that you simply mention "gorilla" and they associate it with themselves. It's quite disturbing to watch from a far. It's a terrible paranoia that is deeply ingrained and it begins with caring too much what swine think of them.
Of course some swine are making it racial but the vast majority are poking fun at the other cacs that went bananas (pun) over a dead gorilla.

There were two memes comparing the killing of Harambe to Mike Brown (which btw if you looked at the twitter for those plenty of blacklives matter Mike brown supporting black people were laughing at it as they didn't see it as devaluing the actual killing and more as a funny thing to reference, though of course you had the bigots doing the he didntdunuffin nonsense as well).

The latter two I saw no one but bigots post, but the first one plenty of black people who supported Mike Brown, Eric Garner, etc etc and plenty of black lives matter types were reposing and laughing at.
They took that white gorilla and made solo memes with him posting actual realities of discrimination and police abuse, which worked well because he has a smug face which embodied the mentality to people.
