Whole situation is crazy. I have a good friend who is a Muslim that comes from an area north of Tibet that is being overtaken by China. His whole ethnic group, including his parents, are in concentration camps. He’s stuck here in the states and can’t go back because if he does, they will throw him in the concentration camp as well. Hasn’t spoken to his parents in 3 years.

Have good friends in Taiwan. They’re saying China is making ownership claims of Taiwan citing Taiwanese people are ethnically Chinese that defected to Taiwan after the rise of Mao.

China is no joke and they are about to usurp all of this territory by force and it’s not shyt that anyone could do about it.

The craziest part of it is now China are paying Triads to hit the streets and beat down the protesters and keep everyone scared and quiet.

- the agreement that the UK laid out with China is that PRC law wouldn't take hold in HK for a number of years. Of course, the PRC being the PRC, they will push those boundaries to see how much they can get away with waaaaaay before that date ever comes.
- meanwhile the west is watching and hoping that the nature of HK will metastasize and spread to the mainland, and hoping even more that the PRC makes a bad pr move in the eyes of the world so that they have an excuse to act.
- the PRC doesn't give one iota of a f*ck about any of it. HK is China, has always been China, and the experiment they allowed to be set up there to learn western ways can be wiped clean and started all over again whenever they want.
