WWE tries to be slick with it. They want to milk D-Bry's popularity as much as possible without pushing him and promoting him as their biggest or second biggest star.

That still leaves a ton of money on the table, but you can see how they want him close enough of the main programs to get at least something out of him. It's so stupid :snoop:

(1) Erick Rowan def. Fandango.Surprisingly Rowan was pretty over with the crowd.

(2) Lucha Dragons def. Bo Dallas & Tyler Breeze. The Dragons weren’t really over until they started doing high-flying stuff, which got everyone into them. Dallas and Breeze play a great dysfunctional duo, as they’re basically opposite heel characters.

(3) R-Truth def. Luke Harper. Truth came out with the I.C. title, and Bad News Barrett stole it during the match.

(4) Natalya & Emma def. Sasha Banks & Summer Rae. I could have done with a lot more Sasha. Nattie was super over.

(5) Roman Reigns def. Big Show. Reigns wasn’t booed very much, but he also just wasn’t nearly as popular as they need him to be right. Come on, this is your Mania main eventer and he’s working pre-intermission matches with Big Show two weeks before the big title match? Show had a lot of heat. The match just wasn’t very interesting.

(6) The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) def. The Ascension. The former NXT champs cut their promo about being better than all the legendary tag teams; nobody cared.

(7) Bad News Barrett def. Dolph Ziggler & Dean Ambrose in a triple threat match for the I.C. title. This was really good, the best match of the show by far. Truth and Harper both got involved at the end. I’m not 100% sure, but I believe Truth left with the title again.

(8) Daniel Bryan def. Kane in a Portland Street Fight. PDX may not always care about Seattle (except when it’s NFL season and we have to steal their team) but Bryan was more over than anybody I’ve seen on the 4 WWE live events I’ve been to over the years. He won with the running knee strike into a chair.

Pretty fun live event with the second half much better than the first. Two things I can’t get over – 1) They clearly don’t perceive Reigns as a main event yet are running with him at WrestleMania, and 2) Bryan is way more over, yet he’s in the midcard title match at WrestleMania; they realize this, because he wasn’t even loosely affiliated with that program tonight. Instead he main evented. Go figure.

WWE:ufdup:
There are more house show reports of reigns being over than of him not bein over so :yeshrug: this report . It was in Bryan's neck of the woods too

Sometimes I wish Bryan would politic ala HBK. But he's too much of a saint :to:

Well this isn't really true . They push bryan constantly though , just because he's not headlining this mania people act like he's finished . How about we let this whole reigns thing play out ? Because as much of a reaction that bryan gets they have said his merch and house show numbers don't necessarily translate :yeshrug:

Well the tv crowds clearly are followers , people were hating on tv crowds for chanting cm punk randomly now we saying they the end all be all ?? i went to a house show in msg and cena was way over and we tried To split chant him but it didn't work and he by far had the most merchandise sold and I don't mean kids I mean amongst everyone .
Brooklyn
* Roman Reigns defeated The Big Show. Reigns got a good reaction, although it was nothing overwhelming. Reigns hit a Superman Punch and a spear for the victory.

A smart city cheering reigns Hmm

Ok and ? That's not what we were discussing though man come on . You made it seem like wwe is ignoring the majority of the fans in your OP and like im showing you it's not as cut and dried as your making it out to be. Plus santino Ryder got huge pops and stuff too back in the day lets see how mizdow and axel translate later

No one in the history of the internet has ever sent a live event report without trying to sound like they know something about the wrestling business.
They put Reigns before the intermission for a good reason, not because they're dumb or don't see him as a main eventer. I've seen guys who headline indie shows go on before the intermission so they could sell merch during the break . On the old MSG house shows on the Network, Hulk would go on half way through the card and The Rockers were in the last match. Just send in the results and shut the fukk up

They said? Who is this magical "they"? and when the fukk has Meltzer said this? He definitely has said time and again that Reigns leading houseshows haven't been what the Bryan ones are and Bryan is DAMN SURE SELLING MORE than Ambrose, Seth, Ziggler, and Reigns.

That's bull considered his return skyrocketed ticket prices for the rumble & WM when he was announced

I remember reading somewhere an ex-writer said they don't really give any thought to house shows though

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Top merchandise sellers for WWE in the late summer/early fall at live events, in order, includes John Cena, Roman Reigns, The Usos, The Wyatt Family, Brock Lesnar, Sting, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose and Hulk Hogan. Cena's merchandise sales were described as "greatly outdistancing everyone else" when fully broken down.

For orders through WWE Shop, the top 10 best sellers were Cena, Ambrose, Reigns, Lesnar, Steve Austin, AJ Lee, Bryan, Brie Bella, Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior.
Ok show me your numbers . I'll wait . I said he's numbers aren't equating the push people want him to have in wwes eyes . If reigns/ambrose numbers are even close to Bryan's merch numbers then wwe has a case not to push him .
