These last generation remakes are disgusting

Opps we didn't make the game as polished and well developed as we could on PC because last generation consoles held us back so now we're going to do what we should have done in the first place and re-release the game the way it should have been. No free updates for our already paid customers on PC if they want the version of the game they should have originally got they need to make another purchase.

I'm talking about games like Metro Redux, Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider (2013), Deus Ex Human Revolution. These aren't remade PS2 generation games some of these games aren't even 2 years old and they warrant remakes?

This industry treats us like idiots because we don't stand up for ourselves. This is going way too far this isn't even annual sequel with minimal difference level this is basically them selling you the same game twice.

They do this as a way to create a cash inflow to be able to fund further games. Dont like it dont buy it.


How many times do I have to say this. Look at how many studios have closed their doors in the last 5-10 years. Look at the number of games released.




Games take longer to create and cost more money. For every rock star theirs five others that can barely pay employees. Look at cry tek.

that's maybe forgivable but what isn't is having the PC get a new paid version with what amounts to upgrades that were already possible on it in the first place or could be patched in. Steam says I can but Metro Redux for $25 because I already own both games. That's messed up.

I'll buy remakes when they're on sales for $5. I can't think of remake of a recent game that I'd pay full price for, except TLOU.

Same goes for consoles. There's nothing stopping them from just allowing previous owners of the game to update to the new version for free or even cheap $10-$15 to cover the development costs.

What they are trying to do is re-profit of prior work, with minimal investment.

Metro Redux is a great product to be remade the others i agree. why isn't the TLOU remake added to that list. its just as bad if not worse then tomb raider.
