It's very tragic the way in the rap game is its cool to trash your elders.

When I was growing up, all we did was listen to 60's and 70's music (80's baby)...I knew so many classic R&B and soul music...everything from Ben E King to Earth Wind and Fire. You name it.

And listening and studying it when I was young allowed me to take their genius that they were passing down and building off it. And that's what kept music constantly interesting and progressive cuz everyone was doing it and in their own way.

Lot of these cats today clearly don't have that same reverence for music and it shows in how they create and produce. It's like music for retards by retards. Sad shyt.

There's literally no rapper under 30 that has anything useful to say in their lyrics.

They're both within spitting distance of 30 yrs old though....I know there's a handful of dudes under 25 that can write but it's retarded how many rappers stick to the same script. Drugs, money, clothes, hoes and not giving a shyt.

Lol it's a lot of young dudes out who can write, writing is only one component of rapping though.

And if your post was to be taken seriously, what do you even mean by "can write"? Writing a good song is difficult to do regardless of what you write about... As it happens, the top tier song writers are generally speaking not the best vocalists/singers/performers.

Rappers who tout "lyricism" as their main claim to fame but can't put a well-constructed song together to save their lives are a dime a dozen. Lyricists who are also adept songwriters who are also good vocalists? Literally only about a dozen of them crop up in any generation of rappers.
