There's TOO MANY rappers, man :bryan:

"Everybody think they can rap, I don't like it" - AR-AB, Blow 3

Time to cut the fat. Problem is kids just want to look up to other kids, because they hate growing up. Growing up means responsibilities.

So every two months its another 16 year old blowin' up. And World Star been in the gutter for the past 3+ years, pushing so much garbage. You used to have to have a buzz, and connections (i.e., paid your dues) before you could get pushed on ANY level. The DRILL scene also created a generation of wackass White kids starting up websites and blogs pushing rappers because they seem gangsta, and kids love to eat that shyt so they can live vicariously.

When there's so many rappers, how can anybody seriously make any money?

Seems like everybody and their momma is a rapper now, and has a mixtape. And alot of these guys are far from successful. For every rapper that's touring and has videos and placements. there are many that can't even get booked for shows and are making cents on the dollar if any real money from peddling their tracks and mixtapes.

The internet also created alot of false hype. Alot of these rappers aren't famous or known like that. Having a track that has over 100,000+ plays means nothing if you can't fill up a 100 person venue. The game is beyond oversaturated.

of course they're conscious of their actions, they have lost some brain cells now after the percs and lean, but they know what theyre doing.
I see and feel what you're trying to say, but I still think you're wrong and giving these kids too much credit. They're getting these face tats, drinking lean and taking these specific drugs as a way to fit in, 'look kool' and follow trends within their peer and social circles, not as a conscious way of saying fucc you to general society. THAT is a byproduct of their actions. it's not conscious.

the premise for what they do is to differentiate themselves from the status quo and older generation. So whats the best thing for them to do? Do the polar opposite of th eartists 20 years ago, and do everything that was considered taboo. Prescription pills, face tats, effeminacy, bright coloured hair, tight clothes, singing rappers etc etc, all taboos of :flabbynsick:. Now all these things are popular now, as it is defined of 'this generation', and they all copy each other. in 10-20 years time it will cycle back, no one will fukk with tatts etc it will be dated.

Our generation was bad too, higher crime (in some places), smoked sherm, we drunk more alcohol. I remember people in clubs smoking crack :yeshrug:

Word. And there's certain rappers who are NICE who can never catch a break, because they too old or they don't have a certain gimmick That kids can latch on to.

Wasn't Agallah crying about quitting just a year ago? Now I'm hearing Joe BLOW, whose a young cat, is considering quitting (altho i blame the BAY scene for relying on indy Albums as opposed to free Tapes). WSHH shows to much bias towards Atlanta artists, and people making druggy rap. Very little love to new NY cats or the established West Coast cats. Even though its a NY website, kinda like VladTV who from the BAY but never show them exposure.

True, there's a lotta broke boys out here stuntin or just blowing up your feed with wack shyt. Views dont mean nothing, if all ur views are from DENMARK. You go to a Keef show, and its all white kids, but he dont even do shows in Europe (but your favorite 90s rapper do!). At least Keef still got a buzz. There's also rappers who don't have a ONLINE buzz, but still making money because they know the club promoter and he hosting nights at the strip club for 6 racks. OTOH, despite millions of hits, who the fukk is going to a YUNG LEAN show? Nobody.

This is true...

I started smokin weed when I was 13 cuz all the nikkaz I looked up to in my hood did it. I quit when I was 17 cuz it always made me kinda paranoid and i never really felt good doin it.

When I started college back when I was 21, I started doin coke and molly with the college kids and these were drugs that made me feel good unlike weed... Had to cut that shyt once I graduated and started workin and travelin but every now and then Ill still do it

But yeah my point is when you young you are susceptible to a lotta bad influences, bad friends, drugs, etc
