Life is strange like that, Ethiopia fought violent wars against the Italians on some heavily spiritual Christian/Muslim shyt. Wasn’t no cheeks turned at all. Different application gets different results I suppose.

Let’s not be quick to forget about the Deacons of Defense either. Not all of MLK’s people’s were non violent.

I think it’s because white people couldnt teach them a brainwashed form of the religion since Ethiopia distinctively has the oldest form of the religion.

We over here subscribe to white created sects, we need our own Black American sect. For now I’m non denomination. I just read and do my own studies. No pastor

True. The irony tho, is that Ethiopianism (the seed that later became Black Nationalism) was based off the Church and the references to Ethiopia in the Bible as a great Black kingdom which negated the ideas of inferiority that whites were trying to teach. It’s started with Davis Walker in North Carolina in the early 19th century and continued to the turn of the century where it later evolved into the organizations of the 1920s.

Mind you, I’m not trying to say there hasn’t been complicit efforts by white people to create a docile and nonviolent group. I’m just saying, the application sometimes makes all the difference.

Either way, Ogun the one in these streets right now....:wow:

Nah, it’s just plain old fear.

If it was strictly Christianity, white people wouldn’t have brutally colonized half the world in the name of Jesus.

Yup. Fear of their position in white society being threatened. Notice none of them mentioned anything about white supremacy or Black people in general.

Religion is a tool to be weaponized in time of war. And pacify the masses in times of peace.

Many a conquest, and slaughter have occurred throughout history because "God willed it".

Only a fool would use religion to further enable their own oppression.

Turner put the fear of God into white people.

Among the other reasons why the different colonies/states made it illegal to teach free or enslaved Blacks to read.

Here is section 31 of the Alabama Slave Code of 1833 (passed AFTER the Nat Turner rebellion)

Whites had a system of slavery, enforced by all laws, and military and still felt they had to draw up laws to restrict Blacks from reading and writing.

Educated Black people will always be a threat to the system.

On another note, great that you are taking the time to read and interpret the Bible for yourself. You don't need a middle man to interpret something for you.

In the old testament how did the israelites reach the promise land? It wasn't through peaceful measures.

Did David just talk it out with goliath or put a stone in his forehead?

And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one - Jesus
Jesus said, “I did not come to bring peace, but a sword” (Matthew 10:34).
