Black people still don't seem to grasp this, you think you are upsetting these companies with boycotts?
Gucci knew what they were doing with that black face turtle neck,H&M knew exactly what they were doing with that ad that had a black boy wearing a "coolest monkey in the jungle" shirt. It is promo designed to hopefully get nikkas to stop promoting Gucci. Gucci believes you nikkas who are promoting the brand are promoting it in fugazi fashion,or cheapening the brand just by you being black:mjpls:. This boycott should happen, but you are naive if you think that was't designed, and they aren't happy to have black people abandoning the product, especially rappers.

imagine thinking boycotts don't work when you have literal history showing otherwise

but anyway, the number of black people who buy authentic gucci is too low for them to even consider the notion

especially when you considered out of all the fields in the art world, the fashion world is braindead

I don't think I said boycotts don't work,but boycotts can be misguided.
Even then it works here because black people still shouldn't be giving a company our business who don't want it.
You are forgetting how influential hiphop is accross all demographics in america.
If Gucci views rappers and nikkas who can't really afford Gucci wearing fake Gucci hats and belts,or real Gucci hats and belts,as cheapening the brand to the majority of potential white customers, you don't think they would do this to get black people away from Gucci?so naive:respect:

Only reason I still shop at h&m is bc the mom (of the "coolest monkey in the jungle" boy) seemed cool with it. :yeshrug:

In a series of since-deleted Facebook posts, the mom, Terry Mango, of Stockholm, Sweden, said she didn’t support the backlash over the ad — which even prompted The Weeknd to end his partnership with the brand.

“Am the mum and this is one of hundreds of outfits my son has modelled,” Mango wrote. “Stop crying wolf all the time, unnecessary issue here … get over it.”

So what is your solution? Continue buying?

No,you should definitely stop buying and hopefully influential people will start to promote black business more instead of the "exclusive" shyt. But its important to raise awareness of what I'm saying. Otherwise you have people who may think it was just an honest mistake on Gucci's part who will be willing to accept an apology. When you start seeing these companies are doing this on purpose I think it should make black people a little more upset and hardline when it comes to permanent boycotts.

Discreet racism happen everywhere, but not enough black people realize it is intentional. Happens at resturaunts, happens when you are in search of housing.
These establishments and neighborhoods don't want their business and neighborhood to become "black" for a reason.

Do you remember when the ATL Hawks sent that email trying to figure out what they could do to keep so many black people from coming to the games? The sorry ass ATL Hawks?
Yet nikkas still going to Hawks games:francis:

I feel like some of these situations are intentional, because whether nikkas are aware of it or not. There is a large number of white people that want to support a brand more when they know black people don't like it.

So they pandered to blacks to make Gucci young and hip again (to the young white people that like black/hip-hop culture, spend more money and are not going to boycott), and now they can double back and aim for the conservative country club money.

THIS THREAD MAKES NO DAMN SENSE...

OP ...GUCCI LAST YEAR SIGNED a joint venture with HARLEM'S OWN DAPPER DAN..the BLACK DESIGNER known for his urban spinoff's of the GUCCI BRAND

Gucci and Dapper Dan Are Officially in Business

Guess that explains that, you added another dimension, they are getting it from both ends:ohhh:. Plus I'm pretty sure Gucci did that after they got caught stealing one of Dapper Dans designs, probably wanted to avoid a lawsuit by allowing him to work for them, cold game:respect:
