Went to this Asian place Saturday in Terre Haute. Wife get on my case because she say I get the same thing at each place we go. I got the shrimp fried rice.

Doubled back after we ate there and got a to go order. Swiped my card and the receipt had a tip section on it

I already tipped $12 when we ate there. I went on and tipped a couple more dollars for the carryout since I was in a good mood.

There was even a place on doordash that had tips as menu options. Like nikka why would I tip the restaurant on a damn delivery order

I remember getting slaughtered and negged into oblivion in a thread many years ago when I said tipping was stupid and going to get out of hand.

Now you got cashiers at counters adding in tips when you pay for a premade snack smh

Tipping is for exceptional service, which you don’t get with take out. Tipping culture clearly shames people for not tipping, so if everyone is making tips, and the best of the best make more than the standard 15-20% on tips, corporations are effectively socializing their losses and forcing all of us to bear the burden of paying their workers adequately.

The bailouts, the billions they steal in loopholes is not enough. Nah, they turn the working class against each other when we’re literally just trying to eat and be merry. I fukking hate it here sometimes

Most people (and myself to a degree ) have accepted they’ll never do anything of substance about corporations and wealthy inequality and as a result they find the easy target of basically shaming people of the fellow working class into doing what they they’ll never protest en masse for. The system is working exactly as it is supposed to, it seems.
