and they make you feel guilty if you give them a fare tip for the service provided. like ok here is 5$ as a delivery tip, and they hit you with the, thats it.

I DoorDash on the side, and I will say that I don’t do many orders to certain parts of town, because why not deliver to folks who actually tip. I’m doing the same service, just getting paid more. I try to stay away from cheap fast orders and the youth. Youngsters are usually horrible with the tipping, both black and white.

I avoid eating out as much as possible nowadays. Less people are cooking so if they know you coming to eat no matter what, they will try to get as much money out of you as possible. It's business, don't take it personal.

Well, tpping in restaurants is a common practice in many countries, and it is generally considered customary to leave a gratuity for good service. In the United States, for example, it is customary to tip between 15% and 20% of the total bill before tax, while in other countries such as Japan, tipping is not expected and may even be considered rude.

If you are dining in a country where tipping is customary, it is generally a good idea to leave a tip for good service. However, the amount of the tip can vary depending on the country and the level of service received. In general, if the service was good, it is appropriate to leave a tip of between 10% and 20% of the total bill.

Ultimately, tipping is a personal decision, and the amount you choose to tip should be based on your own judgment and the level of service you received. If you are unsure about tipping in a particular country or situation, you can always ask a local or do some research to find out what is customary.

Yea what's the tipping elicit for delivery? Pre-pandemic I use to hit em with a $5 (typical delivery orders for me is between $50-80)

Times have changed though and COL/gas has gone way up; are us customers supposed to be tipping % now(I have been recently)?

Also does tipping Prior to receiving a delivery effect how you serve the custies?

I don't care that they're asking, it's optional, nothing to get upset over. I'll only tip on a pick-up order if it's something I know the kitchen worked hard to make.

Pretty soon people will forget that there never was a tip prompt at quick services restaurants and coffee spots.

I tip a server, a barber, bartender and someone carrying my luggage. That’s about it.

If they make minimum wage or above I’m not tipping , only tip workers that actually depend on tips to survive

I find that when I deliver to the hood I get no tip, and it’s usually from a fast food place that is not that far. I usually get between 5-10.00 per order. Lately, a lot of non-food places utilize the platform. Like yesterday I delivered a ratchet set from advance auto parts to a tire shop. Another time I did deliveries for a food pantry. The pay is good for those but I already know I’m not getting tipped.

I like doing pizza runs because it’s still customary for people to tip for pizza with cash.

I don’t see the amount of the tip until I deliver the goods. I’ve done early Sunday morning deliveries in the wealthy part of town and made damn near 30 dollars per order on tip alone.

I’m about to start Ubereats soon since they pay drivers better. I might let my daughter take over for me once she gets her license and passes my driving test
