I hate to bring it up, but I legit think we could have come out the east last year.
The thing about becoming a champ is that you don't know you can do it until you do. I'm sure they had all the confidence they could, and they did. But this year, they performed knowing they're champs and everyone was coming for their necks. They beat our asses all regular season. We got the version of them that had won already. So, yes I think, with even an objectively inferior Knicks team we could have fought them to 7, if fully healthy.

The perceived depth of that Pacers team is overrated. Obi a decent 8th man but Sheppard, Walker and Thomas Bryant aren't putting fear in anybody
We have the scoring from the starters to not have to overcome 20 points deficits multiple times, plus a bunch of them are good for crazy minutes. Duece off the bench is instant offense, albeit maybe only for 10 minutes. That Mitch KAT combo, finna do work. Cats really downplaying the fact we beat this Celtics team. I really didn't want to start talking about this Pacers series this early:francis:

Honestly looking at how they came at our necks it was probably because they saw the Knicks as threats even during the first game and reacted in kind. It always felt like they wanted to beat the Knicks to prove something. I think to psych them out the Knicks because they did have legit matchup concerns.

Fam, I said in that first game that they were trying to to prove a point, and demoralize us by draining threes when all they had to do was reduce it to a half court game, eat clock(strong pause) and win the game. You'd think they'd have done their homework on an inferior Knicks team from last year and know they come back from deficits via the fast break. Long, unnecessary threes feeds the fast break, especially with Hart's crazy ass, lol. They wanted to break the Knicks' will but instead of fed comebacks.
