Terry Norris suffered bad KO's in his career, I mean Julian Jackson is regarded as the most devastating puncher around those weight classes in history

, this KO probably caused his condition by itself

Only way to learn how to fight is to fight, you gotta get that hard sparring

one KO doesn't cause CTE, it is the consistent concussions over time. The majority of damage done to boxers brains is done in sparring.

Yes it does, One KO can you kill you

you never fully recover from a KO like thats long term damage especially when you out like that

When Manny 54 he might be the same way because of the Marqeuz KO

but Terry Norris was dog type of fighter, I take and give it type style, so he took lot of damage almost 60 fights

that's mayweather promoted defense first, because all that damage adds up over time
mayweather spar hard but he don't take a lot of damage

if you taking a lot of damage in sparring they usually pull the fighter out for the day

I agree 100, but there's levels to it.

  • There's a time and a place for consistent, hard sparring, but generally that's reserved for stablemates that train a lot together and know each other well.
The problem with boxing/sparring is that you gotta do it for a while to get to a level where you and the other guy understand the duty of care aspect.

But getting to that stage takes a period of uncertainty and tremendous fear in the ring, which invariably, is a period where you are a liability for yourself and the opponent. People fight off emotion, fear, bravado until they understand the mechanics and can temper their heart rate and conquer their vulnerability in the ring.

Sparring hard is the best way to get u ready for a fight, no debate in that.

Can it cause u long term affects, absolutely.

It sucks for the fighter.
