as fukked up as it sounds, it sounds like im listening to a bootleg drake, i can't help but think how much better these songs would sound if they were covered by Drake. Quentin doesn't have good enough mic presence to be a viable solo artist.

Thing is though, you can always develop mic presence. And in the video of them in the studio, it's clearly there. It's just, for some reason, it doesn't always carry over to all of his songs. A lack of mic presence can sometimes stem from a person not having a ton of vocal experience. You tend to see that especially in people who just started rapping. Maybe Quentin writes more than he raps, so that's why he was signed on as a ghostwriter. Something must've gotten OVO's attention if they've got him writing for Drake.

Yup. You have dudes like B-Real and Q-Tip who have weird rap voices, but they're rap legends in their own right. So it's not the voice, it's the usage of it that matters. shyt, even Wayne. I bet when Wayne had just started out, his voice was all types of weird, but he perfected it into the style we all know and love today. They just put the hours in, and the rest is history. You do something long enough and it eventually becomes polished due to mastery. Quentin has a great rap voice, it's just too raw. With enough practice, I'm sure he'll get there in no time. Same goes for charisma. That only comes when you rap enough to really buy into what you're saying, and that can take time. If Quentin really wants to get that shyt down, he can do that in a matter of six months, easily.

While I enjoy QM, I think he is better as WDNG Crshrs, they have a good dynamic. If dude let some personality shine once in awhile wouldn't hurt either then I can see him being ok solo, as that is what is holding him back.

Needs to move quick, Summer 16, Drake was still using his flow as have a few other of these singing/rapping mfers, biters everywhere SMH.

QM killed this shyt :wow:

After then he has to be marketed in the hardest climate ever.
