Mariota was shaky at the beginning of that Utah until homeboy from Utah gift wrapped them the game fumbling the ball before going in the endzone. And the only question I have about Mariota is his ability when he is up against it. When his team is trailing or in a tight 4th qtr game what is he like then.
Whenever I watch Oregon they are always ahead now while that's great I did also see the Arizona game all of it and when crunch time came down 27-24 in the 4th with a chance to lead his team downfield Scooby Wright took the ball right out of Mariota's hand with little resistance from Mariota. That stood out so much to me becuz before that drive I was like okay now let's see what Mariota is made of.
Mind you this was really before Jameis and FSU started they're slew of 4th qtr and 2nd half comebacks. I said the same thing in the Auburn game for Winston and in the UL, Miami, BC, UF and GT game and his record is still unblemished. This is why if I'm an NFL scout, GM or decision maker that Winston is higher on my board than Mariota.
In the NFL you're gonna play way more games like FSU played this year than the type of games Oregon played this year so I'll take the QB that's battle tested been up against and if all goes well the next few weeks is still undefeated.
