Semiconductors have taken a beating like nothing else. A friend that has a company that has a contract to bring people to manufacture semiconductors has seen his workforce go down from 700 employees to 24. I just talked to him yesterday. Trump and China trade dispute have wrecked things for companies. Maybe when things get resolved it will go back to normal.
I don't think it will go back to normal though all eyes have been locked in China. Xi Jinping has flexed his muscles and China is not playing!
They are doing something never done before in the history of the world basically a three-prong approach to take over the world. If they do it will be the first country on this planet that will control all these things at the same time. Control a landmass, control the ocean waterways and control choke points in Asia where no enemy of there will be on the same continent. Don't know they can do the last one unless they make Japan bow down.
No other country has controlled all three at the same time. To be honest no other country has even tried to do it! NoNoture if they will even come close to doing it but China is not fukking around! So trtrade warsre here to stay!
Not sure if Trump sees it cause he isn't that bright but other parts of the government do and they will put pressure on anyone in the executive branch to slow China down!
Wow, didn't know it was like that
But what I don't get is that can't the US just invest in the homegrown manufacturing of semiconductors?
There's plenty of manufacturing hubs they can focus on. Silicon Valley, The Rust belt Midwest, Pennsylvania, etc. Or is it that the cost of labor is too high?
Also, do you know any books I can read as an intro to Mergers and Acquisitions? Or anything similar to what you do in Corporate revitalization and buying failing companies?
