Ever since my girl put me on, I only use their stuff to moisturize my hair.
Feels good and smells heavenly :ohlawd:
It'd be great if this became a Support Black Business thread with people posting places they've had satisfying experiences with but I doubt it :wow:

:youngsabo: We have tons of threads about black owned businesses breh.

They're trying to appeal to other markets and make more money. Business 101
I mean I thought this shyt was common sense, where's the issue. A better complaint should be why they used a half cac light bright for the model representing black women and not a darker tone sister :jbhmm:

Dat Coconut & Hibuscus Kid's Hair Spray...

...LAWD...

:ohlawd:

Smells GREAT and works well.

But yeah, I'm gonna have to do a bit more research on current ownership. I specifically moved my daughter's hair care products from Aveeno to Shea Moisture to support black businesses. My understanding is that it is still black-owned, but they partnered with a larger company for better distribution opportunities.

Bain owns 49 percent of shea moisture. damn shame.

Where it's hotter & wetter
Its 2017, all that "blackgirlmagic" and "independent successful black woman" talk should be producing tangible results.
C'mon.
Can we not pretend that all of those things aren't reactionary coping mechanisms to deal with being born into a society that shyts on them and makes them feel less than?
Black women don't feel valued.
They don't see themselves reflected in the standard of beauty that prevails in the west.
When they do see themselves it's as a slut/whore/thot or an angry, ghetto, ratchet.
Sometimes a combination of the two.

If no one else is willing to praise them, why be so harsh when they want to praise themselves?
Sure...it may seem crazy to build your own pedestal and climb up on it yourself...but who else was gunna put her there?
Maybe it's a lie sometimes.
But let's not pretend like we don't see it for what it is.
Maybe, instead of sniping at each other and taking shots where we know we're weak, we should build each other up? :ld:

Not sure where you are going with this but it has nothing to do with my comments or running businesses in general.

People who are insecure do not need to be running businesses and they for the most part are not.

I do not think less of black women to say black women are incapable of running businesses.

There are black women who run businesses, but these businesses do not employ anyone, these businesses tend to serve as a replacement as a job for these women.

My point is, in 2017 it is pathetic that women have not focused on growing their businesses into multinational organizations. Many of these businesses end up being sold to white companies, and the owners take that cash and retire. Nothing wrong with that and I`m not here to tell people what to do with their money, but for a group who lives or dies by what people thinks about them, its pathetic that none of them are pioneering the companies to fill the voids they talk about.

Men don't care about representation, Men open businesses because nobody will ever give a man a chance, and there is no system to provide welfare to a man. So this situation has nothing to do with why "black men arent doing something." Black women are fully capable of running their own businesses and it is insulting to insinuate they are not capable.

In business you leave emotions at the door. So I can careless about think pieces and stuff like that, either someone is producing or they arent.
