If anything uva overachieves....they don't recruit like cuse does or Louisville, and they def don't recruit like duke and unc. They're doing the best w what they have. Talent wise, the elite 8 might be their ceiling until they start getting a McD's AA every couple years.

They were up 16 with like 9 mins to go vs Cuse who is not an all time great team. They got plain old outcoached last night. Boeheim went to the full court press and Bennett had no answer. Horrible, horrible loss.

Center self, inner self
he'd be in consideration for the goat GOAT tier .
No, he wouldn't.

This
This thread is full of people who have not watched Boeheim choke away season after season with elite talent.
AND THIS. Dude Boehim has choked so many fukking times. Hes the antithesis of Jim Calhoun. Jim would take NOTHING and make it into gold, whereas Boehim would take elite talent and turn it into shyt. Hes almost as bad as Bill Self

Bohem does not have "elite" talent like the very top schools. He gets good talent but rarely gets top 10 recruits

He was a Derrick Coleman free throw from a 2nd title and this year and in 96 had two amazing runs and great coaching jobs

He has flaws of course and lost some bad games in the tourney but so has everyone else. In a one game and you're out format upsets happen all the time

To call a coach bad who's won 20 plus games 34 times is pretty asinine

Yeah while I agree Bennett doesn't get great talent it's obvious he doesn't know what he's doing on offense

The minute Virginia was sped up on offense by the press they had no idea what the hell to do. They're used to only a slow pace

It's highly unlikely he wins a title this year, but anything can happen. The thing about B (not even gonna attempt to spell his name), he plays a style that is hard to play against. Unless Syracuse is just absolutely trash, they usually keep the game close because the control the game tempo with that zone. With that being said, how many other coaches have the wins he has. NCAA took some wins from him, and he still is probably second amongst active coaches with like 900+. Add his gold medals, and another title, and I could see people putting him in that status. Winning a National Title in hoops is extremely difficult (at least for the men). It takes talent, good coaching, the right matchups, and a bit of luck. If you can get 2 in your coaching career, your definitely an elite coach....add 900+ wins, and a few gold medals and there is a legit argument. What Syracuse has done this year has been extremely impressive.....at that can be all credited to coach B.
