Y’all wanna know what’s funny? Looking back, the Proud Family was lowkey on some :mjpls: at times and blantantly offensiveat others.

You had Dijonay who was the typical loud ratchet girl with blonde hair. And she had about 10-11 siblings all named after spices and sauces lol.

Then there was the Chang triplets, who, of course, were Asian, and straight A students. But then they gave them that typical Asian accent and buck teeth to boot, just like them old school racist depictions of Asians back in the day.

And then you had the Gross sisters. I never understood why them lil girls was blue until they said in the show that they were ASHY :dead: And on top of that, they was Haitian too. And back in that time, Haitians was getting bullied like a MF down here.

:mjlol:

My problem with this is that first, this appears to be a show aimed at older kids to tweens. Second, we don't have to put every black topic on front street for the masses. It's nuances to stuff like this that gets lost in a lot of the back and forth. So I'll be shocked if it can be addressed properly on a cartoon. But maybe there was some overall lesson that is taught by the end of the episode. :hubie:

Also, it's too much of black people airing their grievances with each other in front others anyway. Especially with topics like this that end up being a back and forth about who's jealous, who's self hating, who's angry and on and on.... Black people have always called out other Black people for not staying "on code", white washing, interracial dating, being republicans, or sell outs... but now it's not really intra-community and is out for the world.
Enough millennial and gen z women have made it loud and clear which group of women they are pressed over it is what it is and ain’t no turning back from it:francis: not sure how they think airing this shyt out is a good look but they are gonna do what they do regardless of what anyone says

This is not cool cause little kids watch these shows. What they hell does Becky with the good hair need to be discussed on a show targeted towards little kids. This shyt ain;t cool and this shyt projecting.

Bad enough they got a little boy on this show extra sassy and gay like he a black reality show tv gay character. :mjlol:

This shyt the equivalent of some red pill shyt being put in a male kids TV show. Like for example in blaze and the monster machines the little black kid drive AJ is talking to blaze about marriage and Blaze tells AJ "forget them American women...get you a foreign woman they more submissive"

Like would this be appropriate to put in a kids TV show?

I just want to say I was a teen when I saw the first proud family series so no:sitdown:
who is Noah and why is he dating Zoey :dead:
Zoey was the least attractive out of all them

There is an episode in season 1 where they transport to college and Zoey becomes bad.

I was wrong god damn they didn't teach shyt :snoop:

Thats the thing it just projects. No real message. Like it actually can make little black girls more sensitive on the issue. It was too many generalizations in the conversation on the show and then instead of focusing on the boys who don't have color issues and who don't chase after white girls. They instead said shyt like hey forget boys we just gonna stick together.

That is not a good look on a show that prides itself on diversity and finding the good in people especially when they got a whole entire group of folks on the show who are in gay interracial relationships, raised by a gay couple, a teenage male dressed as a woman and on and on. Yeah I ain't cool with this show. I know the original had some stereotypes, but overall the message was positive in it, but this new show has like black stereotypes on steroids. I am scared to see the next set of episodes.

But this shyt is not for little kids. They need to put a TV-14 ratings on this show.

Crazy how as a 80s kid you had organizations complaining about He-man, GI Joe and Transformers cartoons. Now you got cartoons like this that has actual adult content and grown idiots celebrate it.
