Just Paul George. I actually started hearing this on Wednesday. But I didn't believe it. But the all star game and seeing how Grant and Paul was, it's clear, they are working on it.

Tim Hardaway Jr improvement might be a massive asset.

So is there a website or insider who has said PG is possibly coming here? I'm not convinced that Grant Hill & PG having small talk means something is up

To be fair....I DID hear Marc Stein say on ESPN this morning that the Pacers HAVE told teams that "they are listening" to offers for PG.

The QUESTION is....can the Hawks put together a package to beat out ere'body else bidding for him?

Fixed. The Hawks have been in talks to make a move by the deadline the past couple of years and they rarely do anything significant.

Last year they had an opportunity to get some some high draft picks for Al or the rumored Noel for Teague deal. They did neither and instead picked up Kirk Henrich. The year before that, all they did was trade Adrian Payne to free up a spot (can't remember who they filled it with).

I wanna be optimistic, but the Hawks don't have a track record of actual big moves during the deadline. The most significant one I can think of was being the transition point for Rasheed Wallace going from Portland to Detroit lol.

Splitter, THJR and a first rounder for PG? Maybe 2 first rounders? I'm not sure how much you wanna give Indy considering PG is a FA and can possibly be had in the offseason. But like @Black Andy Dwyer said I doubt the Hawks pull a blockbuster move like that. Not because they don't have the pieces but because I'm not sure how willing they are to change this team

Atlanta didn't want to trade Al for what was offered and they wanted to trade Jeff or Dennis in this off-season which they did. The fact is, Al was a rental. No one really offered shyt.

Hawks already said they aren't trading Millsap (who can walk come this summer) meaning they are all in on this year. If they have a chance to get PG, no way they don't pull off that move.

Yea but who wants him? :heh:

Nobody is trading anyone of value for Kent WOATmore

Probably stuck with bazemore, dude is a 20mil guy you only can rely on like once a week. Prince could probably put the same numbers if given the minutes:francis:

And Prince would do it on fewer shots and without flailing around like an idiot half the game.

I think PG to the Hawks is a pipe dream, I don't see that happening at all. And yes they may be all in on this yr but I still don't understand what they're doing. I don't see the moves we're making and being like "yea this is a team that is going for a championship." I think we're headed for a quick first round exit and then we're gonna max out Sap and Bud will act like this roster is capable of doing shyt next season. I mean im feeling like :francis: just thinking about what we're doing

With just three days left before the NBA trade deadline, the Atlanta Hawks are attempting to walk a tightrope by improving the current team while also casting an eye at the future. Mike Budenholzer recently talked about the team’s directionheading into the deadline with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Chris Vivlamore.

“I just think we are considering how we can make this team better,” Budenholzer said recently. “Is there something that makes sense for two teams, two organizations? We are always balancing the short term with the long term.”

Vivlamore reports that the team is focused on being buyers at the deadline and expects to be active. It is also important to note that being active doesn’t necessarily mean a franchise changing move. The team has been “active” for each of the last three seasons. Those deals consisted of taking on Antawn Jamison in a salary dump in 2014. Opening up a roster spot by trading first round pick Adreian Payne in 2015 and picking up Kirk Hinrich off the scrap heap last season. The Hawks have been involved in plenty of rumors along the way but they have left fans without a substantial deadline move.

Atlanta had a clear path as a seller. Players like Paul Millsap, Tim Hardaway Jr, Thabo Sefolosha have value for teams looking to improve their playoff positioning. The path is less clear with the Hawks as buyers.

The AJC reports that Atlanta has “plenty of assets” but is that really the case? Millsap is by all accounts off the table and that leaves the Hawks with a lot of expiring contracts and a plethora of draft picks. Of those picks, most are of the second round variety and the two extra first rounders that they do own have varying degrees of lottery protection. This is no longer 2010 and players on expiring deals don’t carry the same value they once did and teams invested in their future aren’t willing to part ways with picks or young players already on the roster.

Budenholzer also mentioned to the AJC that if a deal doesn’t materialize, that he is comfortable finishing the season with the current roster which in a lot of ways seems appropriate. The Hawks may not have a lot of choice.

This is pretty much what we've been saying but I'm left wondering what is the long term and short term direction for this team? Why is Sap still here unless we're offering him a long term max deal this summer?

SMH at whatever the fukk we're doing right now
