He doesn't want to just do Marvel stuff. This movie for instance he has full control on the IP. And it's with Warner not Disney.

Plus he would want to write Blade as his vision not have to answer to Mahershala Ali who iirc has a say in who gets hired.

Movie sounds fire and they saying it’s something you need to watch multiple times because of things you’ll miss.
